About Adoramus

Adoramus is a Christian Choir and Orchestra gathered from many different denominations that serves the Church and wider community by offering concerts that communicate aspects of the Christian faith creatively, sensitively, and to a high standard.

We are a Christian choral community and offer one another encouragement and support through our shared faith and love of music. The choir and orchestra are led by music director David Hooke, whose vision, commitment and expertise have made Adoramus a unique experience for singers, orchestral musicians and listeners alike.

Our programmes range from large scale Christmas concerts for the entire family to thematic concerts, worship services for specific occasions, evangelistic presentations, weddings, memorial services and broadcasts, all performed with a warmth, sensitivity and involvement that grows out of our shared Christian faith.

AboutAdoramus01

While based in North London, our ministry is not confined to this area, with concerts being given in the surrounding counties of Hertfordshire, Essex, Buckinghamshire, and also abroad. As part of this extension, we have planned and played for the American Church's September 11th commemoration service, taken part in the Evangelical Alliance's "A Day to Pray" broadcast on BBC Radio 4, performed a Millennium Concert for the Enfield Deanery, given anniversary concerts for St John's Buckhurst Hill, St Aldhelms, Edmonton as well as initiating partnership concerts with churches across the denominational spectrum in the Southampton area. Abroad we have used our links with Waldensian and Brethren churches in Italy to enhance their outreach programmes and we hope to continue to build on the relationships built up by visits in 2001, 2003 and 2006. We are currently exploring the possibility of a further visit abroad in 2009.
